A talk programme on "Population Management: An Ideally Health Family"

Click to enlarge11 July 2008, Russian Centre of Science and Culture and UN Association of Nepal jointly organized a talk programme on "Population Management: An Ideally Health Family" on the occasion of the 19th World Population Day.

Programme Coordinator of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Arseny Starkov, addressing the welcome speech, said the Russia is been celebrating the Year of Family 2008 as declared by the Former President Vladimir Putin seeking the importance of family.

"Family is an important institution of the society, base and support of the government giving answer to the socialization of the new Click to enlargegeneration," he noted. At the programme, Intellectuals and Experts of Nepal said that that population would not be threat to the country if the country can manage and transform our resources in the development of human beings.

"Poverty, pollution and population are dominating the society and people would not be burden and terrified if the government bring a prudential policy to improve the quality of human life," they said. They also stress to humanize the world and bridge the gap of resources and communication between rich and poor countries. More >>

The 52nd anniversary of diplomatic relation between Russia and Nepal marked

22 July 2008, a Solemn meeting was organized to mark the 52nd annivClick to enlargeersary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the Russian Federation. The programme was jointly organized by the Nepal-Russia Friendship Association, Nepal-Russia Cultural Association, Nepal-Russia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mitrakunj and Russian Centre of Science and Culture.

Welcoming the anniversary of diplomatic relationship between Nepal and Russia, Director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Dr Vladimir V. Novikov said that he just arrived from Russia after participating in the function organized on the same occasion in Moscow by Nepalese Embassy in Russia in 20th July.

HClick to enlargee said that participants in the function were Minister Dignitaries, Russian Ambassador to Nepal Andrei Trofimov, Nepalese business community and students studying in Russia. Addressing the function, Charge D Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Gavrichev highlighting on the bilateral relations between Nepal and Russia said “our interest in developing relations with Nepal is determined by the wish to contribute to consolidating peace by the means of developing wide international cooperation especially with two countries that started their independent development and helping these countries in their endeavor. 115th birth anniversary of Russian poets Vladimir V. Mayakovsky

Click to enlarge29 July 2008, Russian Center of Science and Culture in association with Nepal-Russia Literary Association jointly organized a literary programme to mark the 115th birth anniversary of Russian poets Vladimir V. Mayakovsky. The programme was followed by the poetry recitation by Nepalese Litterateurs.

The programme was chaired by Vice President of Nepal-Russia Literary Association professor Jangam Chauhan and the chief guest of the programme was Shanta Das Manandhar, renowned for his contribution in Children literature.

Addressing the welcome speech Director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Vladimir V. Novikov speaking the contribution of Mayakovsky in Russian literature said his life was highly affected by the Bolshevik revolution and was forefront leader of Bolshevik revolution.

He said Mayakovsky was more familiar as a poetic revolutionist who tried to bring change by his thrill poetry writing and epics blended with sociClick to enlargeal revolution. "Mayakovsky was highly influenced by the Russian poet Gorky and also belong to the same generation, but however the reader can find the work of Mayakovsky`s different in every political changes occurred before and after Bolshevik revolution," said Novikov.

Programme Coordinator of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Arseny Starkov presented a visual clips of poet Mayakovsky`s poems. Altogether he presented 7 poems out of which one was recited by the poet himself and others were sang by the various Russian artists. More >>

A Talk Programme on "Kursk" at Military Museum

31 July 2008, Russian Centre of Science and Culture and Military MuseumClick to enlarge organized a lecture programme on "A battle of Kursk" at Military Museum Chauni.

Speaking at the programme Director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Dr Vladimir V Novikov said Nazi Germany’s third attack was at Kursk in 1943. In Kursk war about 4 million soldiers were mobilized for the attack, 11000 fighter planes, and 700000 weapons. If the Russian soldiers were defeated on Kursk war, then the victory of 2nd World War would not be in favor of Russia. It is said that the war tanks played a great role in the war of Kursk. Very sophisticated tanks having high firing capacity and strong engine were used. He said 5 thousand tanks were used in the Kursk War which lasted for 50 days; finally the German lost the war. Both the counties bear the huge loss. About 8, 50,000 people lost their lives.

Director of Military Education, Brigadier Deepak Gurung, highlighted on the defeat of Nazi Germany by Russian soldiers. He also said the screening of the documentary would benefit to acquire the knowledge of mobile warfare and mechanical warfare military technique.

President of History Association of Nepal Prof. Krishna Bahadur Thapa said the II World War was full of equipped missiles and weapons. Vice Chancellor of Boudha Click to enlargeLumbini University Tulsi Ram Baidhya, Registrar of Boudha Lumbini University Dr. Khadga Man Shrestha, and other professors as well as other Military men were present at the programme.

The programme was followed by screening of a documentary film named" Eastern Front". The documentary depicted the terrible causalities of human and worth properties destroyed by weapons and missiles during the II World War. The documentary provides the vivid pictures of II World War and the effect and consequence of the war against Nazi Germany. More >>
