RCSC screened a movie named "About Love" - 4th December

Click to enlargeRussian Center of Science and Culture screened a movie named “About Love” based on the story of Anton Chekhov on 4th December. The centre has been regularly organizing movie and drama based on Anton Chekhov.
The movie was observed by the mass of Nepali youths. The movie is assembles of the three stories of Chekhov “The Doctor”, “Volodia” and the play “The Bear”. The movie was 112 minutes long and was directed by the renowned Russian Director Sergei Solovev.

A talk programme on "Federal structure of Russian Federation" - 10th December

Russian Center of Science & Culture Kathmandu organized a talk pClick to enlargerogramme on "Federal structure of Russian Federation" on the occasion of the Constitution Day of Russia (December 12) on 10th December at RCSC. The programme was jointly organized by (with) NepClick to enlargeal Council of World Affairs. Representatives of partner NGOs, social scientists, Russian compatriots in Nepal, journalists and students participated in the programme.
Key speaker of the programme, Director of Russian Center of Science and Culture Dr V.V Novikov underlined the importance and historical background of the federal constitution of Russia and said federal constitution holds the democracy basic law, its system, market economy and mechanism of the country.

Buddhist Lama from Dolpa visited RCSC Kathmandu - 14th December

A two weeks-long Russia-Nepal Mountain photo exhibition was displayed at the Russian Center of Science and Culture to mark the International Mountain Day. Buddhist Lama from Dolpa, Dolpu Tulku Lama inaugurated the Mountain exhibition on 14 December. The exhibition comprises more than two dozen of photos from Nepal and Russia.
Director of RCSC Kathmandu, Dr. Vladimir Novikov gave detail information about all the activities of Russian Cultural Center.
During the conversation, Buddhist Lama told about the problems of the Nepalese people of Tibet and the role of Buddhism in their daily lives. More >>

Dr. Hari Maya Pradhan, well-known figure in the field of acupressure and acupuncture, informed about the alternative forms of Oriental medicine for early di
agnosis and treatment of various diseases.
She asserted that one of the advantages of acupressure is early diagnosis of any human disease and can be cured without taking any drugs. She also showed the latest tools used in acupressure and acupuncture.

New Year 2010 Celebration in RCSC Kathmandu - 26th December

RusClick to enlargesian Center of Science and Culture celebrated the New Year 2010 with the premier of Puppet show “Frog Princes” on 26th December 2009.
Children and parents working at Russian Embassy to Nepal, Russian Cultural center, Russian compatriots living and working in Nepal took part in the celebration programme in carnival costumes. At the programme, children were entertained by clowns and jugglers.
Children with their parents gathered together to see the Puppet show "Frog Princess" in the RCSC auditorium. The show was prepared by the members of the Association of Russian compatriots living in Nepal “Ivushka.

A drama show "Vhoko Ghar (Hungry House)" and Film show at RCSC - 28thDecember

The Theatre Group – Shaili (the style) with the initiation of Russian Click to enlargeCultural Center Kathmandu organized a drama show "Vhoko Ghar (Hungry House)" on December 28. Similarly, RCSC also organized a film show “Amphibian Man”. Both programs were organized to mark the end of the Year of Youth in Russia 2009. Students from different institutions, universities, teaching staff and other guests were invited to take part in the closing ceremony.
The drama reflects the dream of people living under the poverty and how their dream end up with the turning into realities.
The drama was directed by Navaraj Budhathoki and was acted by the artists of Sahile Theater. More >>

Mitrakunj New Year meeting at RCSC - 30thDecember

MeClick to enlargembers of the Alumni Association of Russian Universities "Mitra Kunj" organized a meeting on 30th December in Russian Cultural Center Kathmandu on the occasion of New Year 2010. This association is one of the largest and most active NGOs of Nepal having more than 6000 members. “Mitrakunj” mainly focuses on cooperation with Russia.
At the meeting it was also decided to conduct several joint activities throughout the whole year with Russian Center of Science & Culture. Some of the programs will be the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Russian People’s Friendship University and 65 years of the end of WWII.
