A painting exhibition (Reproduction)

Click to enlarge02 June 2008, to mark the International Day for Child Protection Day a painting exhibition (Reproduction) was organized at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture. In the exhibition a total of 34 paintings drawn by the Russian school children below 16 year old was put on display.
The paintings in the exhibition depict the historical monuments of Russia, its flora and fauna and cultural heritage.Click to enlarge
About 300 children from different school observed the painting exhibition and a Russian Children film “Father Frost” screened on the occasion at the cultural centre. Speaking at the programme Director/Counselor of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Dr Vladimir V. Novikov said the International Children’s Protection Day is being marked in Russia to protect the children from every kind of violence and war as many children lost their lives in the World War II. He further said that in Russia every parent observe this day in view to protect their future generation.

A literary evening to commemorate the 209th birth anniversary of Pushkin

Click to enlarge06 June 2008, A literary evening was organized at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture to commemorate the 209th birth anniversary of Russian Poet Alexander S. Pushkin (1799-1837).
Speaking the speech Director/Counselor of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Dr Vladimir V. Novikov said that Pushkin laid the foundation of Russian language and culture and his work is familiar all over the world among the intellectuals. Leading specialist of Russian Centre of Science and Culture AClick to enlargersenij Starkov, giving a short description about Pushkin, highlighted on the works and contribution of late Pushkin and said that he was a founder of modern Russian literature and was first Russian to use every day speech in poetry.
At the programme, various Nepali poets including Kamala Risal, Mani Raj Singh, Dhurba Kumar Singh, Rupak Banwasi, Kiran Pathak, Gyanuwaker Poudyal, Yadav Bhattarai, Bhuddi Bhasyal, Shree Shyamal, Bairagi Jetha and Ishwori Karki recited their creations blended with social and political satire.
Russian Poet Victoria Onupatriava read out a famous lyric by late Pushkin and a poem on love.

A painting exhibition entitled "Life and Works of Nikolai Roerich"

Click to enlarge10 June 2008, a week long painting exhibition entitled "Life and Works of Nikolai Roerich" by a renowned Russian painter Nikolai Roerich opened at Russian Centre of Science and Culture on the occasion of the Day of Russia.
Minister for Land Reforms and Management Jagat BahClick to enlargeadur Bogati inaugurated the exhibition by lightening the lamp amidst the function.
Addressing a welcome speech Tantyana Alexandrovna Novikova said Roerich`s was a multitalented artist who had gained name and fame in different artistic creation like poetry and other innovative creations. Giving more description about Roerich`s she informed that more than 7,000 art works around the world go to his credit which according to her adds to Russian glory.

PIXEL (IT Magazine) inaugurated at RCSC

Click to enlarge14 June 2008, Member Secretary for High Level Commission of Information Technology (HLCIT) Dr Madan Prasad Pariyar release an IT magazine named "PIXEL" published by iWorld Technology on Saturday at Russian Center of Science and Culture. Addressing an interaction programme on "Use of Information Technology in Education" he said the leadership of IT has played a vital role in fast reason of witnessing development in all over the world.
He also stress on the role played by the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in promoting scientific and cultural relations between Nepal and Russia. Speaking about the magazine and the RCSC Website CEO of Microland Shailendra Man Joshi said the Magazine incorporates all the details information about the IT to enhance the knowledge of school students.
President of PABSON, Bhoj Bahadur Shah said the development of IT would only be possible if we can reach out the access of computer and IT in rural areas. He also stress on the need of development of e-economic for the entire development of the country. He also appreciated the information provided by the RCSC Website.

A programme to mark the world’s first woman cosmonaut Valentina Terehkova

16 June 2008, a programme was organized at the Russian Centre of SciClick to enlargeence and Culture to mark the 45th Anniversary of the Cosmos Flight by the world’s first woman cosmonaut Valentina Terehkova i.e. on June 16, 1963. The chief guest of the programme was the Member of Constituent Assembly Dhyan Govinda Ranjit.
Addressing a welcome speech, Director/Counselor of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Dr. Vladimir V. Novikov said Valentina Tereshkova was a first woman cosmonaut in the world who successfully ventured the space flight 45 years ago making a historical event for the mankind in the development of science and technology. He said that after her successful attempt she was given the nick name “Seagull” by Click to enlargethe Soviet people. Before the flight she had to go through tough examinations and training. He wished her success and long life.
At the programme, he distributed a letter of honor to the participants of painting competition held in Moscow who stood first, second, third and consolation prize. About 25 children had participated in the competition. The painting was selected by The Rising Creator.
A documentary film about Valentina Tereshkova was screened at Russian Centre of Science and Culture on the occasion.
The documentary depicts the short biography of Tereshkova and her attempts in venturing the cosmonaut.

The Russian film festival to mark the centennial of Russian cinema

The Russian film festival, which is being celebrated to mark the centennial Click to enlargeof Russian cinema, kicked of on Monday 23rd July 2008 with the screening of "The Cranes are Flying" a wartime love story.
Director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Dr. Vladimir V. Novikov inaugurated the festival by lighting a lamp.
Programme coordinator of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Aresenij Starkov during his welcome speech stated that during prehistoric time's paintings, drawings, architecture, drama and poetry was considered a means of entertainment but with the time cinema involved as an important entertainment factor. "Russian cinema was and remains best in the world, he said.
He said the Russian cinematography has very rich history, it has plays important role in development of culture, spiritual and moral education of younger generation and peoplClick to enlargee junction with high achievements of Russian and foreign cinema art.
He also informed that the very first Russian feature film produced in Russia was in the year 1908, that was "The arrival of the train" which was done by Loumiere brothers and it was screened in Saint Petersburg.
The screening movie "The Cranes are flying" was ninety -seven minute long film, which won the best film award at the Cannes film festival in 1958, portrays an amusingly romanticized view of the war and is based on love story.

A talk programme on "New Presidency in Russia: Development in Continuity"

Click to enlarge24 June 2008,  Russian Centre of Science and Culture and Nepal Council of World Affairs jointly organized a talk programme on "New Presidency in Russia: Development in Continuity".
Speaking at the talk programme former Nepalese Ambassador to Russia Lila Prasad Sharma said the new Russian Federation had inherited a bleak economic situation.
He said in eight years of being president, Vladimir Putin has left an impressive legacy. He has restored the authority of the government; the regional governors have been brought in line.
Charge d' Affairs of Russian Embassy Igor S. Garvishev said theClick to enlarge power sharing between the former president Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev could be taken as an exemplary in the world where power sharing used to be a huge dispute and controversy. "Russia would not change its constitution and the Russian government policy is stable and predictable," he said.
He said during his site visit in the net he was informed that former president Vladimir Putin was consider to be the most stability president in the world. He said the new president will continue the policy which was adopted by former President Vladimir Putin.
