A program in memory of Yalta Conference at RCSC Kathmandu - 2nd February

Russian Center of Science & Culture Kathmandu organized a Talk Programme on 65th anniversary of the Yalta conference of leaders of the anti-Hitler coalition on 2nd February. The main guest of the programme was the vice-president of the International Association of Veterans and chairman of the Victory day celebration organizing committee of RCSC Kathmandu, General (Ret) S.S. J. B. Rana.
Director of RCSC Kathmandu, Dr. Vladimir Novikov was the main speaker of the programme. He said that the programme was held on the auspicious occasion, when Russia celebrates the 67th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad, which initiated a fundamental turning point in the Great Patriotic War (World War II).

PFUR Nepalese graduates congratulated their Alumni - 4th February

Russian Center of Science & Culture Kathmandu and Mitrakunj organized a programme to mark the 50th anniversary of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (PFUR) on 4th February.
The participants of the programme were the PFUR graduates from the sixties to recent years. Some of the participants were members of Constituents Assembly of Nepal, senior government officials, engineers, doctors, scientists, writers and journalists. Secretary of Ministry of Health Dr. Dirgha Singh Bam, a graduate of the 80-ies, on behalf of all the participants warmly congratulated PFUR, staff members of PFUR and Nepalese graduates.

A programme on “Spiritual Healing for the benefit of Universal Peace” - 8th Februaury

Russian Center of Science & Culture and Mitrakunj jointly organized a one-day training session of yoga and meditation with a title “Spiritual Healing for the benefit of Universal Peace” on 8th February. The training was conducted by the well-known spiritual healer and teacher Sushree Raadhikka Didi from India to enhance our power and energy to heal ourselves and others, to cure ourselves from all tensions and to have spiritual guidance for meditation and healing. Celebration of Diplomatic Worker's Day in Russia - 10th February

The Embassy of Russian Federation in Nepal and Russian Center of Science & Culture organized an official event to mark the Diplomatic Worker's Day in Russia on 10 February.

Russian ambassador to Nepal A. L. Trofimov delivered the message of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, in which it was noted that this day is a remarkable event of national diplomacy and celebrated worldwide. His message also addressed on the diplomatic services, which require a full commitment, the most creative, proactive approach to the implementation of the tasks that define the main directions of Russian foreign policy. Press Conference to mark the first anniversary of Saille Theatre - 23rd February

A press conference was held to mark the first anniversary of Saille Theatre (Click to enlargeThe Style) formed by the Nepalese youths on 23 February. Saille was established with the initiation of Russian Center of Science & Culture on 25 February 2009.
The Click to enlargetheatre aims to disseminate contemporary social issues through the medium of art, culture, drama, and music. The theatre organizes Nepali and Russian drama in every two months based on the stories and novels written by Russian and Nepalese writers. During the period of one year, the theatre had staged numerous drama on different famous Russian writers including Anton Chekhov (The Swan Song, The House with Mezzanine), Nikolai Gogol (The Inspector General), Alexander Pushkin (Dubrovsky) and Nepalese writer Govinda Malla Gothale (Vhoko Ghar - Hungry House)” in the direction of Nawaraj Budhathoki.

A talk programme on "The Challenge of Climate change" - 25th February

AIClick to enlargeT Alumni Association of Nepal supported by HIMCCA (Himalayan Alliance for Climate Change www.himcca.org) jointly organized a talk programme on “The Challenge of Climate Change: In a post Copenhagen Environment moving to a low carbon society”. The programme was held in association with Russian Center of Science & Culture on 25 February at RCSC Kathmandu.

Chief Speaker of the programme was the Vice President of Asian Development Bank (ADB), Mr. Bindu Nath Lohani. He presented a paper on the topic and mainly focused on the problems of the climate change and its settlement through a slide presentation. More >>
