Several programmes to mark the 30th anniversary of Russian Cultural Center in Nepal - 10th October

One-month long celebration of the 30th anniversary of Russian Cultural Center in NepClick to enlargeal was formally started on October 8. A meeting was held between the ambassador of Russia to Nepal Mr. A. L. Trofimov, Director of RCSC Nepal Dr. V. Novikov, Russian delegates and non-residence Nepalese on this day.
The Russian Centre of Science & Culture organized a concert presented by Russian Cultural Group �Play Horn� on October 9. The Russian Folk Group came from Obninsk city of Kaluga region of Russia. It was a rare event thClick to enlargeat happened approximately after 20 years in Nepal. During the concert, Nepalese audience got chance to see the Russian dance and listen to the Russian folk songs.
Before the concert, a press conference was held with the Deputy Minister of Youth, Sport and Tourism of government of the Kaluga region P. Konovalov, the Russian cultural group, Director of RCSC Dr. V. Novikov and members of NRN. During the conference, RCSC Director told about the prospects of the development of Russia-Nepal Cultural Relations and activities of Russian Cultural Center in Nepal.

RCSC Nepal celebrating its 30th anniversary - 13th October

Russian Business Delegation who has come to participate in the NRClick to enlargeN conference including the representative of government of Kaluga region and few well-known personalities from the business circles of the region.shared their interest to exchange the business cooperation between Nepal and Russia on Thursday 13th October 2009. The delegation was accompanied by Russian ambassador to Nepal, Andrey L. Trofimov
At the meeting organized at Russian Center of Science and Culture, the delegation expressed to exchange the industrialists and trading communities in order to reassess each others economic potential. They also asked for the better sector of Nepal for the business investment.

A talk programme on "United Nations: Partner in Peace and Development in Nepal" - 21stOctober

The United Nations Association of Nepal (UNA) in association with RCSC organized a talk programme entitled "United Nations: Partner in Peace and Development in Nepal" on October 21, 2009 at Russian Center of Science and Culture.
Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the chief guest of the programme, Sujata Koirala asked UN to continue its support in facilitating the peace process in the country and help in the process of writing of new constitution in the scheduled time.
She further added that the UN mission in Nepal has set an example by facilitating the peace process in the country. �We hope this ongoing support will continue until we are able to draft a new constitution,� she asserted.

Russian Film Festival on the occasion of 30 years of Russian Culture Centre in Nepal - 23rdOctober

In a bid to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Russian Center of Science and Culture, the Russian Culture Center has organized a threeClick to enlarge-day long film festival starting from October 21 to October 23, 2009 at the Russian Culture Center Kathmandu.
All together five movies were screened that incorporated different genres like romantic, comedy, fantasy, horror and thriller.
Movie named �Treasure Island�, �The Cold Summer of 1953,� �The Weeding�, �Night Watch� and �Driver for Vera� were screened in different scheduled time.
People from the different parts of the society had taken part in the film festival. It was an opportunity for the Nepalese people to know about the Russian history, culture and tradition through this film festival.

Inter-School Chess Competition at RCSC Kathmandu - 30thOctober

Sujan Click to enlargeSingh Thapa of Niharika Shisu Kunj School stood first in the inter-school chess competition orgnaised by Russian Center of Science and Culture and Ambition academy to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian Cultural Center.
Similarly Bikesh Prajapati of Niharika Shishu Kunj and the Dipesh of the same school stood second and third prize respectively.
A total of five schools from BhanuBhakta Memorial Higher Secondary School, Ambition Academy, Gyanodaya Bal Batika, Shridiwa Higher Secondary School.
Director of Russian Center of Science and Culture Dr Vladimir V.Novikov presented the medal and certificate of appreciation to the winners.
