Regular press conference was held with the Press club - 10th August

On the occasion of the one year of Georgian aggression in South Ossetia, Russian Centre of Science and Culture screened a video “An Art of Betrayal” to the Journalists of NClick to enlargeepal that reflects the Georgian brutal aggression in south Ossestia.
Speaking about the attack of Georgia on South Ossetia, Director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Dr V. V Novikov opined the motif behind the Georgian government in South Ossestia and said the enormous number of human causalities and the appearance of thousands of refugees attest to the fact that the attack was neither a mistake nor a fortuity but pre-planned criminal actions.
He said Russian citizens experience anger and pain, recalling the August events of last year. “We mourn together with the South Ossetian people, give tribute to the memory of the dead and promise to continue helping all those who suffered during the conflict,” he said.

Ambassadors of Russia and Nepal in RCSC Kathmandu - 12th August

Ambassador of Russia to Nepal Mr. Andrey L. Trofimov and Ambassador of Nepal to Russia Mr. Surya Kiran Gurung attended a meeting organized in Russian Center Click to enlargeof Science & Culture on 12 August 2009. President of the Nepal-Russia Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Hikmat Bahadur Mali was also present during the meeting.
Director of RCSC Kathmandu Dr. Vladimir Novikov told the guests about the main activities and facilities of Russian Cultural Center. He also offered them to visit several art exhibitions being conducted from last few days. During the meeting, Mr. Gurung stressed on the importance of the activities of Russian Cultural Center in Nepal and also informed about the plan of establishing Nepalese Cultural Center in Moscow.

A Movie Show to mark the Year of Youth in Russia - 14th August

A movie named “A white Sun of the Desert” was screened to the students of different school to mark the Year of Youth in Russia.

At the programme Director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Dr Vladimir V Novikov lauded the role of youth in the overall development of the nation.

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at RCSC Kathmandu - 15thAugust

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal released a book named “ JiwaClick to enlargen Maha Abhiyan “ written by renowned littérateur and Journalist Madan Mani Dixit at Russian Centre of Science and Culture. Addressing the welcome speech Director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Dr Vladimir V Novikov said renowned writer Dixit was a first representative from the Nepal government to visit the then Soviet Union, when Nepal has just linked the relationship to the foreign countries.
He also lauded the works and contribution of Dixit in the Nepali literary society. Noted litterateur of Nepal, intellectuals, dignitaries, former Minister and government officers were presented in the programme.
Various national television and print media has widely covered the events in the respective channel and dailies.
