Russian Center of Science & Culture organized a talk programme on "Alternative Medicine based on Aurveda, Homeopathy, Acupressure and Reflectology" in context of the State health programme in Russia on 24th December 2009.

Director of RCSC Kathmandu, Dr. Vladimir Novikov shed light on the development of Russia’s system of medical care and the latest techniques for preventing and treating different diseases.

A Nepalese graduate from Russian University Dr. Hari Maya Pradhan, well-known figure in the field of acupressure and acupuncture, spoke about the alternative forms of Oriental medicine for early diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. According to her, this alternative method of medicine Acupressure and Reflectology were first developed in India, then Ceylon and became popular in China, Japan and rest of the world. One of the advantages of acupressure is early diagnosis of any human disease and can be cured without taking any drugs. She also showed the latest tools used in acupressure and acupuncture.

A report on ancient medical method “Ayurveda” was also presented during the programme. A homeopathy practitioner Bina Acharya also spoke about the benefits of this alternative method of medicine.
