Russian Center of Science and Culture organized a week long exhibition of Paintings "From Russia With Love" by Russian artist Mr. Valentin Skachkov (St. Peterburg) who is also a member of the Union of Russian Artists, on 25 November 2009. Speaking about the exhibition, Valentin said “I came to Nepal to make Nepalese more familiar with the beauty of my birth city St. Petersburg, its people and traditions through my works”.
A total of 31 creative arts of Valentin were displayed in the exhibition that depicts the traditional art and culture of Russia including the beauty of St. Peterburg city, portraits of the inhabitants of the northern capital of Russia, artistic view of Russian village and different landscapes.
Speaking at the programme Director of Russian Center of Science and Culture Dr. V.V Novikov said the arts portrayed in the exhibition reveals the typical Russian landscape and floriculture of Russia. This exhibition would help to add another dimension to promote the cultural relationship between both the countries.
Secretary for Land Reforms and Management Chabi Raj Panta inaugurated the exhibition by lightening the lamp.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of different Nepalese society, the staff members of the Embassy of Russia, Russian Compatriots, representatives from different diplomatic missions, Nepalese artists, students of colleges and universities.
