Russian Center of Science & Culture Kathmandu
organized a Talk Programme on 65th anniversary of the Yalta conference of
leaders of the anti-Hitler coalition on 2nd February. The main guest of the
programme was the vice-president of the International Association of Veterans
and chairman of the Victory day celebration organizing committee of RCSC
Kathmandu, General (Ret) S.S. J. B. Rana.
Director of RCSC Kathmandu, Dr. Vladimir Novikov was the main speaker of the
programme. He said that the programme was held on the auspicious occasion, when
Russia celebrates the 67th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of
Stalingrad, which initiated a fundamental turning point in the Great Patriotic
War (World War II).
During his speech, he explained about the every situation of the beginning of the World War II and the movements that were happened in the year of 1945. He also said that the Yalta conference was one of the most important international events during the wartime and told about the importance of the decisions made at Yalta conference in order to maintain the bilateral peace between the countries.
He also answered the numerous questions raised by Nepalese historians, representatives of different partner organizations and the public.
