Greetings of the Head of the Federal agency of the Cooperation with the Independent States, compatriots, living abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation to the participants of the solumn function on the occassion of 30 years of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kathmandu (Nepal, Kathmandu, 3 November 2009)

Dear friends !
On behalf of the Federal agency for the Cooperation with the Independent States, compatriots, living

abroad and for the International humanitarian coooperation, I welcome the participants of the solumn meeting dedicated to 30 years of the Russian centre of science and culture in Kathmandu.
It gives me a great pleasure to congratulate the RSCS staff members and numerous friends in Nepal, representatives of  science and culture, public, political and youth organisations, graduates of the Russian and Soviet higher educational establishments, compatriots, activists of the centre today on the occassion of this memoriable date.
Geographically Russia and Nepal are far from each other, but there is a mutual desire between our countries to the cooperation. Russia-Nepal relations have traditionlly friendly features.In Russia it is valued the peaceloving foreign policy course of Nepal, its commitment to the priciples of nonalignment and peaceful coexistence.

Today the cultural,humanitarian, economic and scientific and technical ties between our countries are developing dinamically. The Russian centre of science and culture in Kathmandu brings a weighty contribution to this prossess.
We can say with confident that for 30 years of its existence RCSC has become the centre of attraction for the representatives of the wide range of the Nepalese public and the Russian compatriots,who are living in Nepal.Different in forms and contents fuctions conducted in the centre acquaint its guests with the Russian culture,science ,education,memoriable dates in the history of the Russian Federation. RCSC gathers in its walls the people whom it unites the interest and sympathy to Russia,to its history and culture, desire to learn the Russian language. I am glad to state that due to the active mutual action of the RCSC with the local means of mass communication/media the Nepalese people have the possibility to know more about the present Russia, its lastest achievements in different fields.

I congratulate  all who are present in connection with celebrating the 30 years of the RCSC ! I sincerely wish the whole kollectiv/team of the centre   well-being, florishment, successful and fruitful activities towards further development of friendship, mutual understanding and cooperation between the peoples of Russia and Nepal !
