10th Oct 2009, Several programmes to mark the 30th anniversary of Russian Cultural Center in Nepal
One-month long celebration of the 30th anniversary of Russian Cultural Center in Nepal was formally started on October 8. A meeting was held between the ambassador of Russia to Nepal Mr. A. L. Trofimov, Director of RCSC Nepal Dr. V. Novikov, Russian delegates and non-residence Nepalese  on this day.

The Russian Centre of Science & Culture organized a concert presented by Russian Cultural Group “Play Horn” on October 9. The Russian Folk Group came from Obninsk city of Kaluga region of Russia. It was a rare event that happened approximately after 20 years in Nepal.  During the concert, Nepalese audience got chance to see the Russian dance and listen to the Russian folk songs.

Before the concert, a press conference was held with the Deputy Minister of Youth, Sport and Tourism of government of the Kaluga region P. Konovalov, the Russian cultural group, Director of RCSC Dr. V. Novikov and members of NRN. During the conference, RCSC Director told about the prospects of the development of Russia-Nepal Cultural Relations and activities of Russian Cultural Center in Nepal. Other participants also highlighted the importance of such cultural relationships.
The participants of the Congress of the Association of Nepalese living abroad visited RCSC Kathmandu on October 10. Chairman of the Nepalese community in Russia, Mr. Badri K.C. cordially congratulated the staff members of RCSC Kathmandu and expressed hope for an early opening of the Nepalese cultural center in Russia.

RCSC Kathmandu celebrated these events in coordination with Russian Embassy in Nepal, partner NGOs and government bodies of Russia and Nepal.
